I am not sure if I posted this here back in February, but I can at least repost
it now.
The FreeBSD foundation is looking
for donations to help support developers with specific projects, send them to
conferences and buy equipment. This year so far they have raised over 216000 US
dollars to support everything they do. I am asking that if you read my blog and
you have a few extra dollars left over, send them to the FreeBSD foundation so
that they may use it to further the FreeBSD operating system.
You may ask why I am asking you to be so selfless an donate to this
organisation and it is because I use FreeBSD extensively though out my day. It
is used to serve up this page on Lighttpd. The more funds they have available
to sponsor projects, and buy hardware the more stable the OS will become, the
faster it will become. While it won't affect me directly (the donations) they
will benefit us all in the long run. Many websites and servers run FreeBSD for
DNS/Web server/Mail server and other services.
So please donate to the FreeBSD
Foundation. It will make you feel good inside!
