Marriage at 20?
Submitted by X-Istence on Tue, 2008-02-19 18:02.Just recently I got word from an old friend of mine that she is getting married to her boyfriend of 1.5 years. She is only 20 years old and she is already getting married. I am 19 years old. 19 years. I don't even want to consider getting married for another few years. That just seems insane to me.
I made an agreement with this girl, that if we met at our 5 year high school re-union, and we had not met true love yet, we would help each other. With help each other I mean we would set each other up on blind dates with current friends. So far it is looking rather bleak for me, and things are going well for her. I am going to stay optimistic. At least try :P.
She is currently in college, she is going to school for some art major, I have no clue what exactly it is, sorry!
Coming back to the age, 20 is a really young age to get married at. She is happy, so it makes sense, I just think that at 20 there are still a few years of college left, and a few years to be young and stupid. Marriage kind of throws a twist in that. It will work out perfectly, especially since the guy she is marrying is just as playful and young and full of life as her. It is a match that was made in heaven, or at least based entirely on luck.
Unfortunately she is keeping the wedding small, with just the two sides of the family, so I did not get invited, while a shame I don't entirely mind. I have not seen her for a few years now, so it would be kind of weird.
I wish her the best of luck!
